Information
My work has enabled me to devote countless hours in my favorite environment; behind the drum kit.

I have continued to work on and improve my style and look forward to sharing my musical knowledge with others.
If you are interested in drum lessons please contact me via e-mail or phone and I will be happy to get you or your son/daughter started.

I teach the fundamentals of rock, blues and funk drumming. I also teach grooves, fills, and time signatures for all styles of music and share the unlimited possibilities of drumming and percussion throughout the entire rhythmic spectrum.

Upon completion of these fundamentals, the student will then learn the books listed in the materials section below, grooves on the groove lab section of my website and we will study a variety of grooves and fills that will be beneficial to the student and take their playing to the next level.

We will also take a look at lessons given in the magazine “Modern Drummer.”  This is a magazine in which some of the most popular drummers in the music industry impart their knowledge of the fundamentals of drumming.

I provide copies of all required lesson material for all of my students; I also scan and post lessons on the downloads page and student pages.

Materials
The books that I like to teach at the novice level are: Realistic Rock for Kids by Carmine Appice $12.95 &
Alfred On the Beaten Path Beginning Drumset Course Level 1 with CD $9.99

The book that I like to teach at the intermediate level is:
Ultimate Realistic Rock: Drum Method (Book with 2 CD's and 1 DVD) by Carmine Appice $39.95

The two funk books that I like to teach at the advanced level are: 100 Famous Funk Beats by Jim Payne $17.95 & Advanced Funk Drumming: A Progressive Approach to Modern Drumset Grooves (Book & DVD) by Jim Payne $24.99

I strongly recommend practicing with a metronome. The metronome that I use and recommend is the Tama RW105 Rhythm Watch Programmable Metronome. More affordable metronomes are also available at Crossroads Music Center.
*If you do not own a metronome and would like to use one online for free; click here.
